Learn To Row
At a West Norfolk Rowing Club Learn To Row course you will build up basic rowing technique and skills in a stable single scull (2 blades), initially with floats, as seen in the photo. The course also involves a swimming test and compulsory capsize drill (conducted in local pools) and you will be expected to help carry heavy boats up and down steps and be generally confident in and around water.
The sessions are run by our team of enthusiastic and friendly volunteer coaches. We are all club members and once complete beginners just like you!
Sessions comprise of both land-based and on-water training. Our Learn To Row fee covers all tuition, use of equipment and insurance.
On completion of the Learn To Row course you will be invited to join the club (additional fee).
Typically our courses run for 6 consecutive Sunday mornings between 10:00am and 12:00am.
