WNRC enjoyed a glorious day hosting the start of the 2025 Great Ouse Marathon, with a huge team of volunteers welcoming crews from all over the country & abroad to launch from our fabulous new pontoon & race the 22km to Ely.

West Norfolk were honoured to host the 2025 Head of the East on the River Great Ouse at Denver Sluice. It was a glorious day and a host of volunteers, umpires, marshals, supporters and crews from over 20 clubs made a memorable event. Look out for the 2026 event, which will again be at WNRC!
WNRC members Liz & Helen had a fabulous day competing in the Masters HoRR in a composite 8+ with Lincoln RC. Well done crew, cox and supporters!

WNRC new rowers took part in the Great Ouse Cup event at St Neots. This has been established over the last few years as a three-club novices' friendly competitive series, aiming to introduce skills and racing experience to new rowers. West Norfolk, Ely and St Neots crews compete at Sprint Regatta, Skills Challenge and Head Race events at each others' clubs. Great fun and good experience.
This time a one-off finale was held with time trial & sprint regatta. Composite crews and a hot lunch ensured a good time was had by all. WNRC finished in second place behind the hosts.
Welcome sunshine for Ely Head! With thanks to IoERC. WNRC Juniors and Masters crews enjoyed competing in the 5km Division, with club supporters along the course, cheering them on.
WNRC had members out in force for the GOM: over 25 were marshals or helpers on the day at the Denver Sluice start, and 15 competing.
It was fabulous to welcome rowers from all over the country, Glasgow & Tees to Bewl Bridge & Ross on Wye. Over 140 crews.
