Learn To Row

We are taking expressions of interest for our Learn To Row courses.  See below for the format we usually use for these courses.  Sessions are likely to take place in early May and subject to demand we may be able to offer a summer/autumn course in addition.

Learn To Row Course Format

WNRC hold Learn To Row courses at the club site during spring/summer each year.

These are designed to provide someone with no previous experience of rowing with the basic skills to take a stable rowing boat out onto the river.

The courses are open to adults and juniors, age 14 and over, who can swim 50M.

The courses cost £100 per person, this covers temporary club membership (which provides insurance cover) and equipment use.
The training is carried out in stable training boats specifically designed for beginners and is supervised by a volunteer, British Rowing UKCC Level 2 qualified, coach.

The adult course runs on 3 consecutive Sunday mornings 10 am until 12:30.  Participants will receive 6 hours tuition.

On completion you will be invited to join the club as a full member (see membership fees) and will join a coach supported level 1 programme.

Recommended clothing for the course is lightweight sports kit, nothing too loose fitting or it will get caught up on the oars or boat.
