Learn To Row

We are taking expressions of interest for the 2021 taster sessions and Learn To Row courses.  See below for the format we usually use for these courses.  The first taster sessions are likely to take place early May and courses will run from late May through to mid August.  Please contact us at: wnrc.club+join@gmail.com, for more details.

Learn To Row Course Format
WNRC hold Learn To Row courses at the club site during spring/summer each year.
These are designed to provide someone with no previous experience of rowing with the basic skills to take a stable rowing boat out onto the river.
The courses are open to adults and juniors, age 14 and over, who can swim 50M.

The courses cost £100 per person, this covers temporary club membership (which provides insurance cover) and equipment use.
The training is carried out in stable training boats specifically designed for beginners and is supervised by a volunteer, British Rowing UKCC Level 2 qualified, coach.
The course runs on a flexible system where by the club provides one hour sessions on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Participants sign up for a place in any 6 sessions during this period, they do not have to be consecutive sessions.

Recommended clothing for the course is lightweight sports kit, nothing too loose fitting or it will get caught up on the oars or boat.

We recommend that you take a free taster session before committing to the Learn To Row course.
